2009 in Review PDF Print E-mail

I’ve always disliked opening those holiday letters in which someone is recapping their whole year. Frankly, if I wanted to know all that, I probably would have kept in touch with you throughout the year and would know all that stuff already!
But, as I sit here trying to figure out what to write about this month, it just seems appropriate to reminisce a little bit about the close of one year and the beginning of another.

The last year has definitely brought some big changes to my life: my granddaughter Kinsley was born, I celebrated my 50th birthday, my youngest son Jeremiah graduated from college, my cousin Sherry succumbed to cancer, and my grandson Landon started first grade.  There were break-ups, jobs lost (and found), relocations, new friendships cultivated, and reconnections with old friends and family members.  Amidst it all there was lots of laughter, plenty of photos and tons of funny stories to remember it all by.
My December calendar has a quote

quote that says...
“An optimist stays up until midnight to see the new year in. A pessimist stays up to make sure the old ones leaves.” Even though I’m happy in some ways to see this year end, I’m waiting with childlike anticipation to see what 2010 has in store for me. It seems as if life just keeps getting better with each passing year and I’m ready for the next new adventure!

Have a Safe and Happy New Year!
