Want to give you a bit of a recap from a recent ECD Committee Meeting that I am sure will be of interest to almost everyone with an interest in our community. There are a lot of exciting things happening in our community from those areas in the north on Lebanon Road, all the way thru town, and out to the areas even South of the Holiday Inn Express on S MJ Road.

One of our newest businesses soon to be up and running is the large office building on Lebanon Road; Lexon Insurance. This new building will also be home to our first underground employee parking garage. Of course we are all excited that the completion of the N MJ Road construction project is just around the corner; it was noted that this is still on track to be done in May! The old MJES property continues to see development with plans for new buildings to hopefully be on an upcoming planning commission agenda. In the Paddocks, Academy Sports is going full speed ahead and dirt is moving. This project is going to need 9 acres to allow for the expected parking needs. At nearly 76,000 SF, they will likely employ about 150 people. The walls are going up on the new Valvoline in front of US Bank. In the Providence area the new Jonathan’s Grill will soon be opening; it is going to be a fantastic addition to our community. Aqua Bella Day Spa & Salon is planning to open the doors on their new 3,000 SF expansion with so many amenities that owner Lisia Tucker said “it is going to ROCK MJ”!
