Things are Heating Up at the Chamber...
If you have already made out your Christmas Wish List and it happens to include a dozen varieties of home-made chili, all kinds of fresh treats, pancakes smothered in baked apples topped with whipped cream, a roaring bonfire, and plenty of good cheer; then the Chamber is the place to be in December. While all of us will be pressing hard to get all of the items on our “To-do” list scratched off by the end of the year, we will definitely find time to stop and remember the reason for the season and we invite you to join us for food, fun, and fellowship. In fact, go ahead right now and make a note on your calendars to include the Chamber Office on your list of places to visit.

Seeking R.A.W. Talent (Ready, Able, and Willing)…
Does that describe you when it comes to your past, current, or future interest regarding a committee, event, or program at the Chamber? As we look towards the New Year and begin to put into place the leaders to help guide and direct these various activities, we want to be sure and open up as many opportunities for as many people as possible. Have you thought about or hoped someone would ask you to be a committee or event chair? Have you wanted to help take and event or program to the next level with your energy, ideas, and enthusiasm? Well wait no longer.

Do you remember that song from years ago by the Steve Miller Band that had the lyrics…”time keeps on ticking, ticking, ticking…into the future”? The projected completion date is October 31, 2011…only 791 days away. And while each passing day will get us closer to the completion, there are most assuredly going to be some painful days between now and then.

In last month’s E-Newsletter I mentioned the recent membership survey conducted in the month of June. As you recall, I noted that we had by far the most respondents to any survey ever taken. One of the areas which continue to be of value to a large number of our members is the benefit of “Networking”. We all know that can take on many different shapes and flavors, but it is hard to beat up close and personal conversations, fellowship, handshakes, and business card swapping opportunities.

How is Your Chamber Today?
How many times a day do you suppose each of us are asked the question; “How are you today?” When someone asks you that question, do you ever have the urge to just stand there and look them in the eye to see if they are genuinely interested in the answer or are they just going thru the motions to get to the real reason for calling you, which is often simply to ask you for something?
